IAPETUS2Doctoral Training Programme
IAPETUS2 is a fully funded doctoral traineeship programme funded as part of the NERC DTP2 process.
We will be awarding at least 16 studentships per year from 2019—2024.
Named after the ancient ocean that closed to bring together England and Scotland
IAPETUS is a partnership that joins the leading research universities of Durham, Heriot Watt, Glasgow, Newcastle, St Andrews and Stirling, together with the British Antarctic Survey, British Geological Survey and the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, in a united approach to doctoral research and training the next generation of leaders in the science of the natural environment.
2018/19 Current Cohort
The 15 students of the 2014/15 Cohort began their research projects in October of 2014 and are now well into their third year of PhD research. This cohort contains a wide range of projects from various fields including archaeology, biology, geography, environmental science and geology, working on a diverse range of projects.
